Nyangá
One of my biggest challenges as a Black woman in Australia has been to find products that cater to my beauty needs. Whenever it’s for hair or beauty-related, nothing has been a straight line.
I decided to start Nyangá, a beauty platform and community created to elevate the Black beauty experience. I identified a gap in the market for a media that simplified navigating the hair and beauty industry for afro women. I knew exactly why and how I wanted my brand to be. I worked on this project for several months: brand strategy, content curation, social media launch and strategy. When I had enough material to explain my vision I outsourced the skills I didn’t have.
